01The data licence
Datasets explicitly released by YD Emergence Lab under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) may be shared and adapted for noncommercial purposes, subject to that licence. Check the specific release notice to establish which files and versions are included.
This page does not grant rights over unpublished records, private development files or third-party material. A download without an identified licence should not be assumed to carry the same permission.
02What attribution requires
Give appropriate credit, retain supplied attribution and relevant notices, link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made. Credit must be reasonable for the medium and must not imply that YD Emergence Lab endorses you or your use.
A useful scientific citation identifies Aionterra and YD Emergence Lab, the dataset or measurement title, the release URL, its export or version identity, the recorded simulation interval, and CC BY-NC 4.0. Retain the supplied source information when it is available. Do not invent a DOI or publication identifier.
03Noncommercial use and additional permission
NonCommercial has the meaning given in the licence: use not primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Whether a use qualifies depends on the use, not only on whether the user is an individual, university, company or nonprofit organization.
For commercial use, or when the purpose is uncertain, request separate permission using the contact details on the Operator information page. Identify the dataset, intended use, distribution method and any modifications. Silence is not permission.
04Sharing and adaptations
You may reorganize, analyse, translate or combine licensed data for permitted noncommercial purposes, while meeting the licence conditions. Clearly distinguish your changes, interpretations and derived results from the original release.
Do not remove the provenance needed to understand a measurement. Preserve units and time meaning in scientific presentation. If you convert units, aggregate values or omit observations, explain the transformation so readers can distinguish it from the source record.
05Limits and exclusions
The licence does not automatically cover logos, trademarks, website software, brand design, separately licensed publications or third-party source datasets. Other rights, including privacy and publicity rights, may still limit a use. The licence does not promise that every possible intended use is permitted.
You must not add legal terms or technological measures that restrict recipients from doing what the licence permits. Uses allowed by an applicable exception or limitation do not require permission under the licence.
06Duration and controlling text
For a released version, the granted freedoms cannot be revoked while the licence conditions are followed. A later site policy or removal of a download does not undo a valid licence already granted. Termination and reinstatement are governed by the legal code.
This page is a practical explanation, not a replacement for the licence. The official CC BY-NC 4.0 legal code controls the licensed rights, conditions, disclaimers and limitations.
